Sukta 10.16
शृतं यदा करसि जातवेदोऽथेमेनं परि दत्तात्पितृभ्यः । यदा गच्छात्यसुनीतिमेतामथा देवानां वशनीर्भवाति ॥
śṛtáṃ yadā́ kárasi jā́tavedo áthem enaṃ pári dattāt pitṛ́bhyaḥ | yadā́ gácchāty ásunītim etā́m áthā devā́nāṃ vaśanī́r bhavāti ||
ಹೇ ಜಾತವೇದ, ನೀನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಶೃತ (ಪಕ್ವವಾಗಿ ಸಿದ್ಧ) ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ಪರಿಯಾಗಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸು—ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಅವರ ಕಾಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿಕೆಗೆ ಇಡು. ಅವನು ಈ ಅಸು ನೀತಿ (ಪ್ರಾಣಮಾರ್ಗ)ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿದಾಗ, ಅವನು ದೇವರ ವಶನೀ (ದೇವೇಚ್ಛೆಯಿಂದ ನಡೆಸಲ್ಪಡುವವನು) ಆಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.
