लङ्कादाहः — The Burning of Lanka

Catuḥpañcāśaḥ Sargaḥ

संजज्ञे तुमुलश्शब्दो राक्षसानां प्रधावताम्।स्वगृहस्य परित्राणे भग्नोत्साहोर्जितश्रियाम्।।।।नूनमेषोऽग्निरायातः कपिरूपेण हा इति।

saṃjajñe tumulaś śabdo rākṣasānāṃ pradhāvatām |

svagṛhasya paritrāṇe bhagnotsāhorjitaśriyām ||

nūnam eṣo 'gnir āyātaḥ kapirūpeṇa hā iti |

ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ರಾಕ್ಷಸರು ಓಡಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಭಯಂಕರ ಕೋಲಾಹಲ ಎದ್ದಿತು; ಅವರ ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಭಂಗವಾಯಿತು, ಸಂಚಿತ ಶ್ರೀಮತ್ತೆಯೂ ಚೂರಾಯಿತು. ಅವರು ಅಳಲುತ್ತ—“ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಇದು ಅಗ್ನಿದೇವನೇ ಕಪಿರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ—ಹಾ!” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿದರು.
