भरतस्य मातृसदनगमनं कैकेय्या दारुणवृत्तान्तकथनं च

न ब्राह्मणधनं किञ्चिद्धृतं रामेण कस्यचित्कश्चिन्नाढ्यो दरिद्रो तेनापापो विहिंसितः।न रामः परदारांश्च चक्षुर्भ्यामपि पश्यति।।2.72.48।।
na brāhmaṇadhanaṁ kiñcid dhṛtaṁ rāmeṇa kasyacit | kaścin nāḍhyo daridro vā tenāpāpo vihiṁsitaḥ | na rāmaḥ paradārāṁś ca cakṣurbhyām api paśyati || 2.72.48 ||
ರಾಮನು ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನ ಧನವನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಪಮಾತ್ರವೂ ಕಸಿದುಕೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲ; ಧನಿಕನಾಗಲಿ ದರಿದ್ರನಾಗಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ನಿರಪರಾಧಿಯನ್ನು ಪಾಪದಿಂದ ಹಿಂಸಿಸಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ರಾಮನು ಪರಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನು ಕಣ್ಣಿನಿಂದಲೂ ನೋಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
