शब्दवेध्य-अनर्थः, ऋषिशापः, दशरथस्य प्राणत्यागः

सप्तधा तु फलेन्मूर्धा मुनौ तपसि तिष्ठति।ज्ञानाद्विसृजतश्शस्त्रं तादृशे ब्रह्मावादिनि।।।।
saptadhā tu phalen mūrdhā munau tapasi tiṣṭhati |
jñānād visṛjataḥ śastraṃ tādṛśe brahmavādini ||
“ಆದರೆ ತಪಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಿತನಾದ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮವಿದ್ಯೆಯ ಉಪದೇಶಕನಾದ ಅಂಥ ಮುನಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಯಾರು ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ಶಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಬಿಡುತ್ತಾನೋ, ಅವನ ತಲೆ ಏಳು ಭಾಗಗಳಾಗಿ ಚೀರುತ್ತದೆ.”
