अयोध्याकाण्डे विंशः सर्गः
Rama Enters Kauśalyā’s Antaḥpura; Ritual Preparations and the Shock of Exile
तामदुःखोचितां दृष्ट्वा पतितां कदलीमिव।रामस्तूत्थापयामास मातरं गतचेतसम्।।।।
tām aduḥkhocitāṃ dṛṣṭvā patitāṃ kadalīm iva | rāmas tūtthāpayāmāsa mātaraṃ gatacetasam ||
ದುಃಖಕ್ಕೆ ಅಯೋಗ್ಯಳಾದ ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು—ಬಾಳೆಗಿಡದಂತೆ ಬಿದ್ದೂ ಚೇತನಾಹೀನಳಾಗಿದ್ದುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ—ರಾಮನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದನು.
Seeing his mother who had done nothing to deserve (this) suffering and who had fallen down like a plantain tree, deprived of her senses, Rama raised her up (from the ground).
