Dāna: Types, Recipients, Timing, and Fruits

सर्वतः प्रतिगृह्णीयान्न तु तृप्येत्स्वयं ततः । एवं गृहस्थो युक्तात्मा देवतातिथिपूजकः

sarvataḥ pratigṛhṇīyānna tu tṛpyetsvayaṃ tataḥ | evaṃ gṛhastho yuktātmā devatātithipūjakaḥ

ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆಯಿಂದ ಬಂದದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಲಿ; ಆದರೆ ಅದರಿಂದ ಸ್ವತಃ ಭೋಗತೃಪ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಬಾರದು. ಹೀಗೆ ಯುಕ್ತಾತ್ಮನಾದ ಗೃಹಸ್ಥನು ದೇವತೆ-ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸುವವನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.
