पुलस्त्य उवाच । त्रिविधा भक्तिरुद्दिष्टा मनोवाक्कायसंभवा । लौकिकी वैदिकी चापि भवेदाध्यात्मिकी तथा

pulastya uvāca | trividhā bhaktiruddiṣṭā manovākkāyasaṃbhavā | laukikī vaidikī cāpi bhavedādhyātmikī tathā

ಪುಲಸ್ತ್ಯನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಭಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ತ್ರಿವಿಧವೆಂದು ಉಪದೇಶಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ—ಮನಸ್ಸು, ವಾಣಿ, ಕಾಯದಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾಗುವದು; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅದು ಲೌಕಿಕ, ವೈದಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕವೆಂದು ಮೂರು ವಿಧಗಳಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ।

Concept: Bhakti is threefold by instrument (mind, speech, body) and also threefold by mode (worldly, Vedic, spiritual/inner).

Application: Balance devotion daily: (1) mind—remember/meditate; (2) speech—chant/recite; (3) body—service/ritual. Then refine motive from laukika (benefit-seeking) to vaidika (scriptural duty) to ādhyātmika (love and surrender).
