FAQs

Pṛthu is an ideal king associated with upholding dharma; the Purāṇas describe hearing or recalling such righteous exemplars as spiritually purifying and conducive to the removal of sin (pāpa).

The verse emphasizes rajadharma: protecting dharma, possessing great practical wisdom, and understanding the Vedas and śāstras—implying moral authority grounded in scriptural insight.

Rulership and social responsibility are portrayed as sacred duties: one should guard dharma, cultivate wisdom, and seek right understanding of authoritative teachings rather than mere power.
