ऋषिरुवाच इत्युक्तः सोऽभ्यधावत्तामसुरो धूम्रलोचनः ।
हुंकारेणैव तं भस्म सा चकाराम्बिका ततः ॥
ṛṣir uvāca ity uktaḥ so 'bhyadhāvat tām asuro dhūmralocanaḥ /
huṅkāreṇaiva taṃ bhasma sā cakārāmbikā tataḥ
ಋಷಿಯು ಹೇಳಿದರು: ಹೀಗೆ ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಧೂಮ್ರಲೋಚನಾಸುರನು ದೇವಿಯ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಧಾವಿಸಿದನು; ಆಗ ಅಂಬಿಕೆಯು ಕೇವಲ ‘ಹೂಂ’ಕಾರಮಾತ್ರದಿಂದಲೇ ಅವನನ್ನು ಭಸ್ಮಮಾಡಿದಳು।
