tathaiva putro bhagavān ṛcīkasya mahātmanaḥ |
jamadagnis tu saptaite munayo 'tra nathāntare ||
The authority of tradition is reinforced through lineage (ṛṣi-to-ṛṣi descent) and through the idea that each era has appointed custodians of sacred order.
Manvantara: listing the sages of the period is a core manvantara-detail within Purāṇic historiography.
Jamadagni’s mention evokes the Bhṛgu-line’s ascetic power; esoterically, it points to tapas as a stabilizing force in cyclical time.
