Adhyaya 76 — The Sixth Manvantara: Cakshusha Manu, the Child-Snatcher, and the Problem of Kinship
चाक्षुषेत्याह तं ब्रह्मा तपसो विनिवर्तयन् ।
पूर्वनाम्ना बभूवाथ प्रख्यातश्चाक्षुषो मनुः ॥
cākṣuṣetyāha taṃ brahmā tapaso vinivartayan / pūrvanāmnā babhūvātha prakhyātaś cākṣuṣo manuḥ
ಅವನನ್ನು ತಪಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನು ಅವನನ್ನು “ಚಾಕ್ಷುಷ” ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಿದನು; ನಂತರ ಆ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದಲೇ ಅವನು “ಚಾಕ್ಷುಷ ಮನು” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧನಾದನು।
