Adhyaya 72 — The Reconciliation Rite, Sarasvati Sacrifice, and the Birth of Uttama Manu (Auttama Manvantara Prelude)
ब्राह्मण उवाच तव संप्रीतये तस्याः वरेष्टिरुपकारिणी । क्रियते मित्रकामैर्या मित्रविन्दां करोमि ताम् ॥

ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ತೃಪ್ತಿಗಾಗಿ ಅವಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಹಿತಕರವಾದ ‘ವರ-ಇಷ್ಟಿ’ (ವರಪ್ರದಾಯಕ ಆಹುತಿ/ಯಾಗವಿಧಿ) ಇದೆ. ಅದು ಮೈತ್ರಿಯನ್ನು ಬಯಸುವವರು ಮಾಡುವದು; ಅದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ‘ಮಿತ್ರವಿಂದಾ’—ಮೈತ್ರ್ಯ-ಅನುರಾಗವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವವಳಾಗಿ—ಮಾಡುವೆನು।
