प्रधानं कारणं यत्तदव्यक्ताख्यं महर्षयः ।
यदाहुः प्रकृतिं सूक्ष्मां नित्यां सदसदात्मिकाम् ॥
pradhānaṃ kāraṇaṃ yat tad avyakta-ākhyaṃ maharṣayaḥ |
yad āhuḥ prakṛtiṃ sūkṣmāṃ nityāṃ sad-asad-ātmikām ||
‘ಪ್ರಧಾನ’ವೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವ ಕಾರಣತತ್ತ್ವ, ‘ಅವ್ಯಕ್ತ’ವೆಂದೂ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ; ಮಹರ್ಷಿಗಳು ಅದನ್ನು ‘ಪ್ರಕೃತಿ’ ಎಂದು ವರ್ಣಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ—ಅದು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ, ನಿತ್ಯ, ಸತ್-ಅಸತ್ ಸ್ವಭಾವವುಳ್ಳದು.
