Bhīmasena’s Himalayan Hunt and Seizure by the Ajagara (भीमसेनस्य अजगरग्रहणम्)
देवदत्तं च मे शड्खं पुनः प्रादान्महारवम् दिव्यं चेदं किरीटं मे स्वयमिन्द्रो युयोज ह,फिर उन्होंने बड़े जोरकी आवाज करनेवाला यह देवदत्त नामक शंख प्रदान किया। स्वयं देवराज इन्द्रने ही यह दिव्य किरीट मेरे मस्तकपर रखा था
arjuna uvāca | devadattaṃ ca me śaṅkhaṃ punaḥ prādān mahāravam | divyaṃ cedaṃ kirīṭaṃ me svayam indro yuyoja ha ||
ಅರ್ಜುನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಅವನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮಹಾನಾದ ಮಾಡುವ ‘ದೇವದತ್ತ’ ಎಂಬ ನನ್ನ ಶಂಖವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ನೀಡಿದನು; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಈ ದಿವ್ಯ ಕಿರೀಟವನ್ನೂ—ಇಂದ್ರನು ಸ್ವತಃ ನನ್ನ ಶಿರಸ್ಸಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟನು.
अजुन उवाच
The verse underscores the ethical idea that true martial authority is not mere personal pride but is grounded in rightful endowment and responsibility. Divine gifts (the conch and crown) symbolize sanctioned power that must be exercised in accordance with kṣatriya-dharma—courage, restraint, and protection of righteousness.
Arjuna recounts honors and equipment he received: the mighty-sounding conch Devadatta is bestowed again, and Indra personally places a divine crown on him. The scene highlights Arjuna’s elevated status and preparedness, marked by celestial recognition and martial insignia.
