वाचको भरतमश्रेष्ठ व्यक्ताक्षरपदस्वर: | भविष्यं श्रावयेद्‌ विद्वान्‌ भारतं भरतर्षभ

Transliteration

vācako bharataśreṣṭha vyaktākṣarapadasvaraḥ | bhaviṣyaṃ śrāvayed vidvān bhārataṃ bharatarṣabha ||

Translation

ಓ ಭರತಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠನೇ! ವಾಚಕನು ಪಂಡಿತನಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಅಕ್ಷರ, ಪದ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವರವನ್ನು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಉಚ್ಚರಿಸಿ ‘ಭಾರತ’ವನ್ನು ಶ್ರವಣಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕು; ಓ ಭರತವೃಷಭನೇ! ಭವಿಷ್ಯಪರ್ವವನ್ನೂ (ಹರಿವಂಶ ಪರಂಪರೆಯಂತೆ) ಪಠಿಸಬೇಕು.
