स्मरन्ति सुकृतान्येव न वैराणि कृतान्यपि । सन्त: प्रतिविजानन्तो लब्ध्वा प्रत्ययमात्मन:
smaranti sukṛtāny eva na vairāṇi kṛtāny api | santaḥ prativijānanto labdhvā pratyayam ātmanaḥ ||
ಸಜ್ಜನರು ಸತ್ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೇ ಸ್ಮರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಮಾಡಿದ ವೈರವನ್ನೂ ಅಲ್ಲ. ತಮ್ಮ ಅನುಭವದಿಂದ ಒಳನಿಶ್ಚಯ ಪಡೆದ ಅವರು, ಇತರರ ಸುಖದುಃಖಗಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮದಂತೆ ತಿಳಿದು, ಜನರ ಸದುಪಚಾರವನ್ನೇ ಮನದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ—ವೈರವನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲ.
