नचोक्ता नैव चानुक्तास्त्वहिता: परुषा गिर: | प्रतिजल्पन्ति वै धीरा: सदा तूत्तमपूरुषा:
na coktā naiva cānuktās tv ahitāḥ paruṣā giraḥ | pratijalpanti vai dhīrāḥ sadā tūttama-pūruṣāḥ ||
ಧೀರರೂ ಉತ್ತಮಪುರುಷರೂ—ಮೊದಲು ಆಗಲಿ, ಪ್ರತಿಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಲಿ—ಅಹಿತಕರ ಕಠೋರ ವಚನಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇತರರು ಕಟುವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರಲಿ, ಅವರ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಕ್ರೂರ ಹಾಗೂ ಹಾನಿಕರ ಮಾತು ಹೊರಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
