तच्छुत्वा द्रोणपुत्रस्य पर्यवर्तत वाहिनी । ततः सर्वे महाशड्खान् दध्मु: पुरुषसत्तमा:,द्रोणपुत्र अश्वत्थामाकी वह बात सुनकर कौरवोंकी सेना लौट आयी। फिर तो सभी पुरुषश्रेष्ठ वीर बड़े-बड़े शंख बजाने लगे
tac chrutvā droṇaputrasya paryavartata vāhinī | tataḥ sarve mahāśaṅkhān dadhmuḥ puruṣasattamāḥ ||
ದ್ರೋಣಪುತ್ರ ಅಶ್ವತ್ಥಾಮನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಕೌರವ ಸೇನೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿತು. ತದನಂತರ ಪುರುಷಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರಾದ ವೀರರು ಮಹಾಶಂಖಗಳನ್ನು ಊದಿ ಯುದ್ಧೋತ್ಸಾಹವನ್ನು ಪುನಃ ಉಕ್ಕಿಸಿದರು.
