Chapter 148: Karṇa’s Pressure, Dhṛṣṭadyumna Unhorsed, and the Summoning of Ghaṭotkaca
त॑ दृष्टवा तस्य विक्रान्तमन्तकस्येव रूपिण:
taṁ dṛṣṭvā tasya vikrāntam antakasyeva rūpiṇaḥ
ಅವನ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು—ಅಂತಕ (ಮರಣ)ನೇ ರೂಪಧರಿಸಿದಂತೆ—ಎಲ್ಲ ಯೋಧರೂ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಭೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಸ್ಥಂಭಿತರಾದರು; ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯ ವಿನಾಶ ಎದುರಿಗೆ ನಿಂತಂತಾಯಿತು।
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how overwhelming martial power can resemble Death itself, reminding listeners that war magnifies the reality of mortality and the grave ethical weight of violence.
Sañjaya describes a warrior’s terrifying prowess: upon seeing him, others perceive his appearance and energy as if Death (Antaka) had taken form on the battlefield.
