या मे सम्भावना तात त्वयि नित्यमवर्तत । अपि सा सफला तात कृता ते भरतान् प्रति
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
yā me sambhāvanā tāta tvayi nityam avartata |
api sā saphalā tāta kṛtā te bharatān prati ||
ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಮಗನೇ! ನಿನ್ನ ಕುರಿತು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸದಾ ಈ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಇತ್ತು—ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದಿಂದ ಕೌರವ-ಪಾಂಡವರ ನಡುವೆ ಸಂಧಾನ ಉಂಟಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು. ಮಗನೇ! ಭರತವಂಶೀಯರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಆ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ನೀನು ಫಲವತ್ತಾಗಿಸಿದ್ದೀಯೇ?
