श्रीभगवानुवाच कृतो यत्नो मया पूर्व सौशाम्ये कौरवान् प्रति । नाशक्यन्त यदा साम्ये ते स्थापयितुमज्जसा
śrībhagavān uvāca kṛto yatno mayā pūrvaṃ sauśāmye kauravān prati | nāśakyanta yadā sāmye te sthāpayitum ajjasā ||
ಶ್ರೀಭಗವಾನ್ ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಹಿಂದೆ ನಾನು ಕೌರವರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಧಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಂತಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲು ಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದೆ; ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಏಕತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೃಢವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತರಾಗಲಾರದೆ ಹೋದಾಗ, ಆ ಸೌಹಾರ್ದವು ನೆಲೆಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
