यस्त्वत्र मन्त्रसमयो भारयपत्योर्मिथ: कृत: । तमेवाहुर्गरीयांसं यश्चासौ ज्ञातिभि: कृत:
yas tv atra mantrasamayo bhāryāpatyor mithaḥ kṛtaḥ | tam evāhur garīyāṁsaṁ yaś cāsau jñātibhiḥ kṛtaḥ ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಪತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪತ್ನಿ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಮಂತ್ರೋಚ್ಚಾರಣೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞೆಯೇ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಭಾರವಾದದು, ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದೇ ಬಂಧವನ್ನು ಬಂಧು-ಬಾಂಧವರು ಸಹ ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸಿ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಅದು ಇನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರಶಂಸನೀಯ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ವ್ರತಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಮಾನ್ಯತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಥಿರತೆಯೂ ಸೇರುತ್ತದೆ.
