Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
विना भर्त्रां च रुद्रेण भविष्यति न संशय: । वंशे तवैव नाम्ना तु ख्यातिं यास्यति चेप्सिताम्
vinā bhartrāṁ ca rudreṇa bhaviṣyati na saṁśayaḥ | vaṁśe tavaiva nāmnā tu khyātiṁ yāsyati cepsitām ||
ವಾಸುದೇವನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—‘ಭರ್ತೃವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಕೂಡ—ರುದ್ರನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ—ಇದು ಸಂಭವಿಸುವುದು; ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿನ್ನ ವಂಶದಲ್ಲೇ ಆ ಪುತ್ರನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ, ನೀನು ಬಯಸಿದ ಖ್ಯಾತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವನು.’
