उपवासे बलौ चापि ताम्रपात्रं विशिष्यते । बलिकभभिक्षा तथार्घ्य च पितृणां च तिलोदकम्
Baladeva uvāca: upavāse balau cāpi tāmrāpātraṁ viśiṣyate | balikabhikṣā tathārghyaṁ ca pitṝṇāṁ ca tilodakam |
ಬಲದೇವನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಉಪವಾಸಸಂಕಲ್ಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬಲಿಯರ್ಪಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ತಾಮ್ರಪಾತ್ರವು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವೆಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಪೂಜೋಪಚಾರ, ಭಿಕ್ಷೆ, ಅರ್ಘ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ತಿಲಮಿಶ್ರಿತ ಜಲ—ಇವೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ತಾಮ್ರಪಾತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ನೀಡಬೇಕು; ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದರ ಫಲ ಅತಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಗುಹ್ಯವಾದ ಉಪದೇಶ. ಹೀಗೆ ಆಚರಿಸಿದರೆ ದೇವತೆಗಳು ತೃಪ್ತರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.
