वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse implicitly contrasts youthful exhilaration with self-restraint: when 'mada' (intoxicating pride/inebriation) rises, bodily control and social decorum can loosen, suggesting the ethical need for moderation and awareness.
Vaiśampāyana describes a festive or pleasure-filled atmosphere in which beautiful women, buoyed by youthful intoxication, walk with a slightly unsteady gait and engage in playful amusements as they wish.
