Adhyaya 79 — Bhakti-Mahima and Linga-Archana-Vidhi

प्रसंगाच्चैव सम्पूज्य भक्तिहीनैरपि द्विजाः भावानुरूपफलदो भगवानिति कीर्तितः
prasaṃgāccaiva sampūjya bhaktihīnairapi dvijāḥ bhāvānurūpaphalado bhagavāniti kīrtitaḥ
ಓ ದ್ವಿಜರೇ, ಸಂದರ್ಭವಶಾತ್ ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಪೂಜೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಸಹ, ಭಗವಂತನು ‘ಭಾವಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಫಲ ನೀಡುವವನು’ ಎಂದು ಕೀರ್ತಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

It teaches that even incidental Linga-worship yields results, but the quality and magnitude of the fruit depend on one’s bhāva; Shiva responds as Pati by granting outcomes aligned with the worshipper’s inner orientation.
Shiva is presented as Bhagavan and phala-dātā—an intelligent, responsive Lord who dispenses karma-phala according to the pashu’s inner disposition, indicating divine governance rather than mechanical ritualism.
It highlights Shiva-puja (including Linga-puja) with emphasis on bhāva as the inner yogic component—refining intention and devotion so the pashu moves toward freedom from pasha.
