देवादिसृष्टिकथनम् (वसिष्ठशोकः, पराशरजन्म, एकलिङ्गपूजा, रुद्रदर्शनम्)
त्वया तस्मान्महाभाग ददाम्यन्यं महावरम् पुराणसंहिताकर्ता भवान्वत्स भविष्यति
tvayā tasmānmahābhāga dadāmyanyaṃ mahāvaram purāṇasaṃhitākartā bhavānvatsa bhaviṣyati
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಮಹಾಭಾಗನೇ, ನಿನಗೆ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಮಹಾವರವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತೇನೆ—ವತ್ಸ, ನೀನು ಪುರಾಣ-ಸಂಹಿತೆಯ ಕರ್ತೃ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಗ್ರಾಹಕನಾಗುವೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಪಶುಪತಿ ಪ್ರಭುವಿನ ಕೃಪೆಯಿಂದ ಪಾಶಬದ್ಧ ಪಶುಗಳ ಮೋಕ್ಷಾರ್ಥ ಶೈವಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತವು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಸಾರವಾಗುವುದು।
