Atharva Veda 9.6.4: Kanda 9, Anuvaka 1, Sukta 6, Mantra 4

Sukta 6

यद॑भि॒वद॑ति दी॒क्षामुपै॑ति॒ यदु॑द॒कं याच॑त्य॒पः प्र ण॑यति

yád abhívadati dīkṣā́m upáiti yád udakáṃ yā́cati apáḥ prá ṇayati

When he makes reverent address, he enters upon consecration; when he asks for water, he leads the Waters forth.

ಅವನು ಭಕ್ತಿಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವಾದನೆ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ, ದೀಕ್ಷೆ (ದೀಕ್ಷಾಮ್)ಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ನೀರನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿದಾಗ, ಅಪಃ (ಜಲ)ವನ್ನು ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
