गौरमीमेदभि वत्सं मिषन्तं मूर्धानं हिङ्ङकृणोन्मातवा उ । सृक्वाणं घर्ममभि वावशाना मिमाति मायुं पयते पयोभिः

IAST Transliteration

gáur amīmet abhí vatsáṃ míṣantaṃ mūrdhā́naṃ híṅ akṛṇon mātávā́ u | sṛ́kvāṇaṃ gharmám abhí vāvashānā́ mimā́ti māyúṃ páyate páyobhiḥ

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

The Cow lowed over the calf that stirred; with the hiṅ-cry she made (as it were) a motherly head. Licking him, yearning toward the warmth, she metes out the cry, and with her milks she gives him to drink.

Translation

ಕದಲುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕರುದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಸು ಅಂಬಿತು; ‘ಹಿಙ್’ ಎಂಬ ಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದ ಅವಳು ತಾಯಿಯಂತೆಯೇ ಶಿರಸ್ಸನ್ನು (ಮೂರ್ಧಾನವನ್ನು) ಮಾಡಿದಂತೆ ಆಯಿತು. ಅವನನ್ನು ನೆಕ್ಕಿ, ಉಷ್ಣತೆಯ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಆಕಾಂಕ್ಷೆಯಿಂದ, ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ಅಂಬನ್ನು ಅಳೆಯುವಂತೆ ಹೊರಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಮತ್ತು ತನ್ನ ಹಾಲುಗಳಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕುಡಿಯಲು ಹಾಲನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ।
