Sukta 102

Sanskrit (Devanagari)

आहं खिदामि ते मनो राजाश्वः पृष्ट्यामिव । रेष्मच्छिन्नं यथा तृणं मयि ते वेष्टतां मनः

IAST Transliteration

ā́haṃ khidā́mi te máno rājā́śvaḥ pṛṣṭhyā́m iva | reśmáccʰinnaṃ yáthā́ tṛ́ṇaṃ máyi te veṣṭatāṃ mánaḥ ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

I harry down thy mind, as one the royal steed beneath the back-strap’s hold; as grass is wound when cut by rein, so round about me let thy mind enwreathe itself.

Translation

ನಿನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ನಾನು ವಶಪಡಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ—ಹಿಂಬದಿಯ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯ ಹಿಡಿತದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ರಾಜಾಶ್ವವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿಹಿಡಿಯುವಂತೆ; ಲಗಾಮಿನಿಂದ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿದ ಹುಲ್ಲು ಹೇಗೆ ಸುತ್ತಿ ಸುತ್ತಿ ಮಡಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸು ನನ್ನ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡಿರಲಿ.
