ಈ ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತ ಆಥರ್ವಣಿಕ ವಶೀಕರಣ ಸೂಕ್ತವು, ವಕ್ತಾರನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇಚ್ಛಿತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಸಮ್ಮತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾಗುವಂತೆ ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಅದು “ಸೇರಲಿ, ತಿರುಗಲಿ, ನೆಲೆಸಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಒಂದೇ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಜೊತೆಯಾಗಿ ಸಾಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣದ ಎರಡು ಧ್ವನಿಮಟ್ಟಗಳು ಬೆರೆತಿವೆ—ಪುರಾಣಾತ್ಮಕ ಆದರ್ಶ (ಅಶ್ವಿನರ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಸಮನ್ವಿತ ಸಾರಥ್ಯ/ವಾಹನಚಾಲನೆ) ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕ ಬಂಧನ-ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು (ಲಗಾಮು, ಹುಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತುವಿಕೆ). ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ, ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆಯನ್ನೂ ಅನುಕೂಲಕರ ಮನೋವೃತ್ತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವ ಔಷಧೀಯ/ಅಲಂಕಾರಿಕ ಆಕರ್ಷಣ-ಮಿಶ್ರಣದ ಮೂಲಕ ಇದು ಪರ್ಯವಸಾನಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ.

अभिसांमनस्यम्। यथा॒यं वा॒हो अ॑श्विना स॒मैति॒ सं च॒ वर्त॑ते । ए॒वा माम॒भि ते॒ मनः॑ स॒मैतु॒ सं च॑ वर्तताम्
ಅಶ್ವಿನರ ಈ ವಾಹನವೂ ಹೇಗೆ ಒಂದಾಗಿ ಸೇರುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರಮಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಒಂದಾಗಿ ಚಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸು ನನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಬಂದು ನನ್ನೊಡನೆ ಒಂದಾಗಿ ಸೇರಲಿ; ನನ್ನೊಡನೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ.

आहं खि॑दामि ते॒ मनो॑ राजा॒श्वः पृ॒ष्ट्यामि॑व । रे॒ष्मच्छि॑न्नं॒ यथा॒ तृणं॒ मयि॑ ते वेष्टतां॒ मनः॑
ನಿನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ನಾನು ವಶಪಡಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ—ಹಿಂಬದಿಯ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯ ಹಿಡಿತದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ರಾಜಾಶ್ವವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿಹಿಡಿಯುವಂತೆ; ಲಗಾಮಿನಿಂದ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿದ ಹುಲ್ಲು ಹೇಗೆ ಸುತ್ತಿ ಸುತ್ತಿ ಮಡಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸು ನನ್ನ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡಿರಲಿ.

आञ्ज॑नस्य म॒दुघ॑स्य॒ कुष्ठ॑स्य॒ नल॑दस्य च । तु॒रो भग॑स्य॒ हस्ता॑भ्यामनु॒रोध॑न॒मुद् भ॑रे
ಮಧು ನೀಡುವ ಆಞ್ಜನದಿಂದಲೂ, ಕುಷ್ಠದಿಂದಲೂ, ನಲದದಿಂದಲೂ—ಇವೆಲ್ಲದಿಂದ—ಎರಡು ಕೈಗಳಿಂದ ನಾನು ಅನುರೋಧನದ (ವಶೀಕರಣದ) ಜಯಕರ ಮಂತ್ರ-ಚರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಹೊರತರುತ್ತೇನೆ; ವೇಗವಾದದು, ಭಗನದೇ—ಸಮ್ಮತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅನುಗುಣತೆಗೆ.
