Sukta 36
तं पृच्छन्ती वज्रहस्तं रथेष्ठामिन्द्रं वेपी वक्वरी यस्य नू गीः । तुविग्राभं तुविकूर्मिं रभोदां गातुमिषे नक्षते तुम्रमच्छ
táṃ pṛcchántī vájrahastaṃ ratheṣṭhā́m índraṃ vepī́ vákvarī yásya nú gī́ḥ | tuvigrā́bhaṃ tuvíkūrmim rabhodā́m gātúm íṣe nákṣate túmram áccha |
Him, the thunder-handed, chariot-seated Indra, the quivering, eloquent hymn—whose song is now—goes asking. The mighty-grasping, the mighty-surging, the giver of support: unto the fierce one it attains a path for nourishment and forward impulse.
ಅವನನ್ನು—ವಜ್ರಹಸ್ತ, ರಥಸ್ಥ ಇಂದ್ರನನ್ನು—ಕಂಪಿಸುವ, ವಾಕ್ಚಾತುರ್ಯಭರಿತ ಸ್ತುತಿ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಲು ಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ; ಯಾರಿಗಾಗಿ ಈಗ ಈ ಗೀ (ಗೀತೆ) ಉದಯಿಸಿದೆ. ಮಹಾಗ್ರಾಹಿ, ಮಹಾತರಂಗಿ/ಮಹಾವೇಗಿ, ಆಧಾರಕೊಡುವವನು—ಆ ತೀವ್ರನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಲುಪಿ, ಪೋಷಣೆಯಿಗೂ ಮುಂದೂಡುವ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯಿಗೂ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ.
