Related Themes: Agni Purana: adjacent verses continuing Aṅga vaṁśa and later transition to Puru lineage
This verse imparts dynastic knowledge (vamśa-jñāna): a precise succession of kings, preserving lineage continuity used in Purāṇic historiography.
By cataloging royal genealogies alongside rituals, polity, medicine, and arts, the Agni Purana functions as an encyclopedia—this verse is part of its historical-dynastic documentation layer.
Remembering and reciting righteous lineages is traditionally treated as purifying (smṛti-śuddhi) and supportive of dharma, reinforcing ideals of legitimate succession and ancestral continuity.
