FAQs

It prescribes the pre-abhisheka sequence: perform the Aindrī-śānti (Indra-associated pacification rite), fast beforehand, and on the consecration day make homa offerings into the vedi-fire with appropriate mantras.

It exemplifies the text’s procedural coverage of statecraft-linked ritual technology—royal consecration, protective śānti rites, fasting discipline, and homa mechanics—showing how the Purāṇa codifies practical liturgy alongside broader dharma and governance concerns.

The śānti rite and homa function as purification and obstacle-removal before assuming or affirming authority; fasting and mantra-guided offerings are framed as means to secure auspiciousness, protection, and ritual legitimacy.
