It teaches dāna-dharma focused on go-dāna (cow-gift) and go-rakṣā (protecting cows), including the ethical restraint of not depriving others’ cattle of their fodder/grazing.
It exemplifies the Purāṇa’s coverage of applied dharma—social ethics, charity norms, and their stated otherworldly results—alongside its many other domains (ritual, polity, medicine, and arts).
The verse links cow-welfare and cow-gifting with high merit: attainment of heaven and even Brahmaloka, plus the upliftment (redeeming benefit) of one’s lineage through protective and charitable conduct.
