FAQs

It preserves a Purāṇic style of cosmographic description using yojana-based quantification, reflecting pre-modern Indian traditions of mapping and measuring sacred or cosmic space in literary form.

No specific named location is given in this isolated verse; it appears to describe the dimensions of an entity (region/cosmic feature) discussed in the surrounding context of Adhyāya 75.

The verse is primarily descriptive rather than prescriptive; its philosophical contribution lies in presenting an ordered, measurable cosmos/geography, a common Purāṇic method for framing cultural and sacred space.
