सेवां कर्त्तुं मम स्थाने ब्रूहि केऽत्र समागताः । उवाच स प्रणम्याग्रे दण्डपाणिर्निशाचरः
sevāṃ karttuṃ mama sthāne brūhi ke'tra samāgatāḥ | uvāca sa praṇamyāgre daṇḍapāṇirniśācaraḥ
«មកបម្រើនៅក្នុងរាជសភារបស់ខ្ញុំ—ប្រាប់មកថា អ្នកណាខ្លះបានមកប្រមូលផ្តុំទីនេះ?» រាវណៈបានសួរដូច្នោះ។ បន្ទាប់មក ដណ្ឌបាណិ អ្នកដើរពេលរាត្រី បានកោតគោរពក្បាលចុះនៅមុខ ហើយនិយាយ។
