purā devayuge rājā kaliṃgonāma dānavaḥ | jarāmaraṇahīnosau devānāṃ ca bhayaṃkaraḥ

កាលពីយុគដ៏បុរាណនៃទេវតា មានស្តេចដានវៈមួយឈ្មោះ កលិង្គ។ គាត់គ្មានចាស់គ្មានស្លាប់ ហើយក្លាយជាភ័យរន្ធត់សូម្បីតែចំពោះទេវតា។
