Mārkaṇḍeya (contextual, addressing the King)
Tirtha: Hanūmanteśvara
Type: kshetra
Listener: Rājā (nṛpa)
Scene: A king listens as a sage narrates the glory of Hanūmanteśvara; behind them, the sacred ford/temple by the river radiates purity; dark ‘sins’ dissolve into light as an allegory.
Tīrtha-māhātmya is transformative: even listening with faith can dissolve deep-seated karmic impurities.
Hanūmanteśvara Tīrtha in the Revā Khaṇḍa of the Skanda Purāṇa.
Śravaṇa—hearing the glory of the tīrtha—is itself presented as a purifying practice.
