īśvara uvāca | pibāsya rudhiraṃ bhadre yatheṣṭaṃ dānavasya ca | nipatadrudhiraṃ bhūmau durge gṛhṇīṣva māciram
Īśvara (Śiva)
Scene: Īśvara issues a crisp command to Durgā: drink the demon’s blood and catch any falling drops instantly, turning the battlefield into a controlled, ritual-like act of containment.
Dharma is protected through wise means (upāya): divine compassion can be fierce, yet it is guided by intelligence and purpose.
The passage is within Revā-khaṇḍa (Narmadā sacred domain), but this verse is tactical narrative rather than tīrtha praise.
No human ritual is prescribed; it is a divine injunction within the battle narrative.
