मार्कण्डेय उवाच । इदमाश्चर्यभूतं हि गौर्या पृष्टस्त्रियम्बकः । तत्तेऽहं सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि पृच्छते निपुणाय वै
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca | idamāścaryabhūtaṃ hi gauryā pṛṣṭastriyambakaḥ | tatte'haṃ sampravakṣyāmi pṛcchate nipuṇāya vai
មារកណ្ឌេយៈ បានមានវាចា៖ «រឿងអស្ចារ្យនេះ មុននេះកាល ព្រះនាងគោរី បានសួរត្រ្យំបកៈ (ព្រះសិវៈ)។ ព្រោះអ្នកសួរដោយប្រាជ្ញា ខ្ញុំនឹងពន្យល់ឲ្យអ្នកយ៉ាងពេញលេញឥឡូវនេះ»
