Viṣṇu
Tirtha: Revā (Narmadā)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Viṣṇu proclaims his residence at Revā, with Śiva (Gaṅgādhara) as supportive ally; Gaṅgā (Jāhnavī) is instructed to merge/enter Revā in embodied form.
The tīrtha’s purifying power is grounded in enduring divine presence—Viṣṇu’s abiding and Śiva’s support—making the sacred landscape a living refuge.
Revā (Narmadā) and her sacred region in the Revā Khaṇḍa of the Skanda Purāṇa.
The verse implies perpetual sanctity through divine indwelling; it supports pilgrimage practices such as approaching, bathing, and taking refuge at Revā’s tīrthas, though not detailing a specific rite.
