Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
The verse establishes Shiva as Pati—the absolute Lord—who is self-dependent, omniscient, and the source of all powers; realizing His beginningless and endless nature grounds the seeker in devotion and liberating knowledge.
Though Shiva is described as transcendent (anādi-nidhana, sovereign and all-knowing), devotees approach Him through Saguna worship such as the Shiva-Linga, which serves as a focus for the mind to contemplate His limitless power and lordship.
A practical takeaway is steady japa of the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with meditation on Shiva as the independent, all-powerful Lord; this supports inner surrender and detachment from pasha (bondage).
