It explains that the soul’s worldly experience is shaped by the three guṇas inherent in Prakṛti; recognizing their subtle presence is a key step toward loosening pāśa (bondage) and turning to Pati (Shiva) for liberation.
Linga/Saguna Shiva worship purifies the practitioner’s inner instrument by reducing tamas and restless rajas and stabilizing sattva, making the mind fit to discern Shiva as the transcendent Lord beyond Prakṛti and its guṇas.
Cultivate sāttvika discipline and japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with steady dhyāna, using bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa as aids to remembrance, so the guṇas are observed rather than obeyed.
