Suta Goswami (narrating the Vāyu–sages dialogue at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: teaching
The verse highlights a Shaiva Siddhanta principle: contact with a Śiva-centered teacher (here, Vāyu as śiva-bhāvin) brings inner purification and joyful receptivity, expressed as humility—an essential disposition for receiving liberating knowledge of Pati (Śiva).
Though the Liṅga is not named here, the mood is foundational to Saguna Śiva worship: devotion that purifies the mind, leading the seeker to respond with vinaya (reverence). Such humility is repeatedly presented as the proper approach to Śiva’s forms, rites, and teachings.
The practical takeaway is to cultivate vinaya and śiva-bhāva before study or pūjā—begin with mental reverence and a short Śiva-japa (e.g., the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to steady the mind and invite purification.
