Sarasvatī-avatāra-prasaṅgaḥ
Account of Sarasvatī’s Manifestation and the Humbling of the Devas
अहो बलमहो तेजो दैत्यवंशक्षयंकरम् । अहो भाग्यं सुमनसामेवं सर्वेऽभ्यवर्णयन्
aho balamaho tejo daityavaṃśakṣayaṃkaram | aho bhāgyaṃ sumanasāmevaṃ sarve'bhyavarṇayan
«អហោ កម្លាំង! អហោ ពន្លឺតេជៈ—អាចនាំឲ្យវង្សដៃត្យៈវិនាសបាន! អហោ សំណាងរបស់អ្នកមានចិត្តល្អ!»—ទាំងអស់គ្នាបានសរសើរ និងប្រកាសដូច្នេះ។
Suta Goswami (narrating the praise spoken by the assembled devas/attendants in the episode)
Tattva Level: pashu
The verse highlights divine bala (power) and tejas (radiant spiritual potency) as instruments of dharma—destroying demonic tendencies (daitya-bhāva) within and without—while affirming that the “good-minded” are blessed through alignment with Shiva’s protective grace.
By praising visible power and splendor, the verse resonates with Saguna Shiva—Shiva as manifest protector—whom devotees approach through Linga worship, stotra, and remembrance, seeing His tejas as present in the sacred emblem and in His acts of safeguarding the worlds.
A practical takeaway is stuti (devotional praise) joined with japa of the Panchakshara—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—contemplating Shiva’s tejas as purifying inner negativity; offering vibhuti (tripuṇḍra) and maintaining sattvic intention aligns the mind with the “sumanas” praised here.
