Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
The verse highlights a Shaiva teaching: sincere praise (stuti) culminates in inner stillness, where the devotee’s agitation subsides and a taste of paramānanda (supreme bliss) arises—an indicator of grace and purified consciousness.
Though the verse describes praising a great sage, its devotional arc mirrors Linga/Saguna worship: heartfelt stuti and reverence refine the mind, leading the worshipper from outward expression (praise and ritual) toward inward absorption (silence), which is central to Shaiva sādhanā.
A practical takeaway is to conclude stotra or japa with a period of mauna (silent sitting), letting the mind settle after devotion—supporting deeper dhyāna and receptivity to Shiva’s grace.
