Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Significance: Highlights ‘Śiva Purāṇa-śravaṇa’ as a salvific act; grace can flow through relational channels (spouse as nimitta for anugraha).
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
It teaches that even a sinful person can be purified and reach Shiva’s auspicious state (sadgati) through śravaṇa—devout hearing of the Śiva Purāṇa—when supported by grace and right intention.
Hearing the Śiva Purāṇa is a form of saguna-upāsanā because it focuses the mind on Shiva’s names, deeds, and compassion; such attentive devotion matures into Shiva’s grace, leading the soul toward liberation.
Śiva Purāṇa-śravaṇa (listening/recitation) as a vrata-like practice—especially on auspicious Shiva days—supported by remembrance of Shiva’s name (japa) and devotion, is implied as the practical takeaway.
