Role: teaching
The verse teaches that steadfast bhakti to Pati (Lord Shiva) becomes a “truth-force” that draws down Shiva’s grace, ripening into jñāna—an illumined awareness that transcends ordinary time-bound perception.
In Saguna worship (such as Linga-upasana), the devotee seeks Shiva’s pleasure through devoted service; when that devotion becomes unwavering, Shiva bestows inner clarity (jñāna) as a fruit of His grace rather than mere intellectual effort.
The practical takeaway is to stabilize bhakti through daily Shiva-japa (especially the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and focused meditation on Shiva, so that devotion becomes steady and receptive to higher knowledge.
