Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Rudra
The verse highlights how the bound ego can persist even at the moment of defeat; Śiva’s triśūla symbolizes the Lord’s power to pierce pride and delusion so the soul may turn toward surrender and grace.
Hara here is Saguna Śiva—personally present in the narrative—showing the compassionate, corrective aspect of the Lord worshipped in the Liṅga: He destroys arrogance and reorients beings from self-importance to devotion.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with humility, paired with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) remembrance that the body and ego are transient, while Śiva alone is the refuge.
